Due to the continuing pandemic and restrictions for large gatherings, we were unable to host our Annual Christmas Party. To ensure our mentees and their families had a wonderful Holiday Season, we started a Secret Santa campaign, so the community could help us achieve our Christmas mission. The Christmas Gift Bags were full of items such as, toys, crafts, games and treats for the children and the youth in our programs, including those on our waitlist. These items provided families and kids an opportunity to make some memories and have fun at home. During a season that can be very stressful for families, especially those facing financial hardships, we wanted to bring some joy during a time we couldn’t get together for some fun.
As a result of our Secret Santa campaign, we were able to raise funds that substantially helped purchase the gifts for the gift bags. Not only did we receive monetary donations that helped purchase gifts but we received donations from local businesses. With the outstanding support we received we were able to fill 89 Christmas gift bags.
