An Evening of Paint and Good Company!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Owen Sound wants to thank Nikki at Whimsy and Wine for her support and dedication to our programs! Nikki led us all in an evening of painting and fun…and we all created such wonderful prints! Nikki donated proceeds from this event back to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Owen Sound and for that we are truly grateful!
Thank you Giant Tiger in Owen Sound!
Darren and Sarah from Giant Tiger in Owen Sound presented Board President, Andy McKee, with a cheque for $530,20 on August 9, 2017. Giant Tiger sold stuffed tiger toys in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday and donated the proceeds from those sales to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Owen Sound. We are truly grateful for the support from Giant Tiger and THANK them for helping us build up programming in our community.
First Annual Golf for Kids
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Owen Sound hosted their first annual Golf for Kids on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Scenic City Golf Course. Mother Nature shared a day of sunshine with us and everyone was able to enjoy their day on the golf course. There was a silent auction, a loaded prize table, a putting contest, a celebrity driver, a hole in one contest, and closest to the pin.After a successful 18 holes…everyone enjoyed some laughs, some beverages, and a delicious steak dinner!
The winning team was made up of Chris Frook, Tim McKay, Rob Dors, and Brian Reid with a score of 14 under par!
Our final total for the day was $6355; what a wonderful help that will be in offering mentoring to the youth in our community! THANK YOU!!!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Owen Sound would like to thank everyone who came out and golfed with us, everyone who donated prizes, everyone who promoted our event or helped in any other way. Thank you to; Merv, Cathy, Mandi, and Diane for spending the day volunteering on the course; Mike for offering up your drive to our golfers; Andy, Jeff, Glenn, and Peter for your organizing at meetings leading up to and during the day; and to Bryan for printing the posters for us to advertise our event.
We look forward to next year’s tournament and hope you all come out again and bring your friends!
