INVEST IN TOMORROW
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grey Bruce & West Simcoe is excited to announce our newest program, Youth for Change, funded by Canada Service Corps. Offering community betterment placements to children, youth and young adults ages 12-30, Youth for Change will allow BBBSGBWS to collaborate with youth and young people to co-create volunteer placements that address local needs while helping participants gain vital skills through fully funded training and development opportunities. Each stream will be tailored to individuals’ passions, skills and future goals and each stream will offer opportunities for community engagement, new learnings and personal and professional growth!
PROGRAM STREAMS
All streams include access to training with topics and classes ranging from Mental Health First Aid, Mental Health Literacy, Leadership Training, Life Skills Coaching, Competency Development Workshops and more!
Youth Council (YCS)
The YCS offers a safe, supportive environment for young people to lead, grow, engage in civic action, and build community networks. Centers on youth-driven community projects and accepts Jr. Members (ages 12-18) and Sr. Members (ages 19-30).
Community-Based (CBS)
CBS offers young adults the chance to mentor local children, co-lead recreational groups with peers, and gain valuable experience through community-based opportunities. Accepts Sr. Members ages (19-30).
School Based (SBS)
SBS offers young adults supported, school-based mentorship placements with local children, where participants review, deliver, and co-create interactive programs in schools. Accepts Sr. Members (ages 18-30).
